Timeless trends are considered to be core, key classics that are beautiful anytime, anywhere. Here are some ideas to help you implement designs that will never go out of style.
First, look back in design history. What has been considered beautiful for decades? A castle or chateau that is still beautiful five hundred years later can inspire you today for individual elements that will enhance your home. If you simplify the style, you will find that many of the key concepts used for royalty are still beautiful for your home today.
A herringbone pattern in wood or tile is a key example of a classic concept. It adds just enough of a wow factor to create interest, but does not over power your space. Marble is a material that has remained timeless. Whether it’s a Calcutta Gold or a Carrera, this material has been able to have a longevity that will keep you from feeling restless. Choose the spaces that need a classic wow factor and these materials will never disappoint.
Woods, like walnut, are always timeless because they have served the likes of classic homes over the years. Hardwoods have just enough color and depth to balance a room, as well as just enough character to be interesting.
Metal finishes always come and go in terms of what’s on trend; however mixing metals will ensure that you have balanced any look to evolve through time. A matte iron finish paired with a soft, brushed brass or a chrome paired with a brushed nickel are both pairings that will ensure that you have timeless decor that will never go out of style.
